What it is

Photos for Haiti is way for professional photographers of any style or specialty to donate money to the relief efforts in Haiti through the American Red Cross. Participating photographers make a pledge to donate a portion of their sitting/creative/session fees or print orders to the American Red Cross during the months of January and February, 2010 (or any portion thereof).

How it works

Step 1

Choose a service to use for your donation (i.e. portrait sitting fees, print sales, etc.).

Step 2

Estimate the amount you will be able to donate, based on predicted sales during the time you specify for your donation (use your best guess, potentially using last year's sales as a starting point).

Step 3

Fill out this form.

Step 4

You will receive an email confirming your pledge and adding you to the list of participating photographers. (There will be a Google Map overlay coming soon!)

Step 5

Tell EVERYONE. The more people who know about it, and the more photographers who participate, the more good we can do for our sisters and brothers in Haiti who have been the victims of this horrible disaster.

About Photos for Haiti

This site is here to act as a facilitator for those who want to donate from what they have been blessed with thus far this year, and does not collect or send any money on behalf of or for those who wish to donate. Participating photographers are responsible for sending their pledged donations directly to the American Red Cross through whatever means are easiest and in a timely manner. To make your donation, Apple has recently enabled pledging directly through iTunes, or you may also use the official American Red Cross website.
